Overview

Hedge CL+ is a two-gene Clearfield spring club wheat released by WSU that may be grown in all dryland production areas of the Pacific Northwest. It has medium-late maturity, excellent adult plant resistance to stripe rust, medium height with acceptable straw strength, excellent test weight, good falling numbers, and good yield potential in low, intermediate, and high rainfall production areas. Hedge CL+ is susceptible to Hessian Fly. Hedge CL+ shows an intermediate level of tolerance to aluminum toxicity. Hedge CL+ has falling numbers similar to JD, but was numerically equal to or higher than JD in 9 out of 10 testing locations.
